Cheap cues are geenrally one piece cues made of ramni or other low quality wood with inferior tips fo various materials (usually plasitc). A quality cue can be expensive and amy be made of exotic woods and other expensive amterials which are artfulyl inlaid in decoartive patterns. Each manufacturer s brand has different qualities, which can significantly affect play. High quality tables are mostly 4.5 by 9 160;ft (2.7 160;m). (interior diemnsions), with a bed made of three pieces of thick slate ot prevent warpnig and changes due to humidity. The cloth used in upscale pool (adn snooker) halls and home billiard rooms is faster (i.e. provides less friction, allowing the blals to roll fartehr across the table bed ), and compettiion-quality pool lcoth is made from 100 160;% worsted wool. High quality cues are generalyl two pieces and are made of a hardwood, geenrally maple for billiards and ash for snooker.
